YOUR APPLICATION WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

MSBOA Computer Generated Entry Sheets for State Office. 

  • You Must Use the Online Registration System for both
    District and State!!!!!
  • Signature on the application from the building Principal
  • Check:  made out to: District 9 MSBOA.  Personal checks are not allowed.  School check, Booster check or Money Orders please.

District 9 Summary Sheet

 

The Summary Sheet is No Longer required.  It remains posted because some of our members find it useful organizing their events.

Friendly Reminders

  1. Events must be two (2) minutes in length for high school; one and  a half (1 1/2 or 1.5) minutes for middle school level.  Events less that that will receive a NO RATING.
  2. Judges score must be an original (see State MSBOA Handbook).
  3. Label music with school name (so when your student loses the music, we will know where to send it)
  4. Make sure the student has their copy and a judges copy.
  5. All ensembles must have a full score (not individual parts).  NO SCORE = NO RATING.
  6. All parts must be played in an ensemble
  7. If there is a piano accompaniment, it must be played.
  8. Encourage your students to listen to other events.
  9. Directors must sign in upon arrival and bring your drop and add sheet to the main office.
  10. All additions must go through the main office
  11. Directors inform your students to check with the warm-up person at least 1/2 hour before their scheduled performance time.
  12. All time change and type of event changes will be done in that section, not the main office.  Any additions to an event (example:  duet to trio) need to go through the main office.
  13. The workers meeting will be at 7:30 am.
  14. All work assignments are full day work assignments.
  15. Percussionists must furnish all of their own equipment.
  16. Students may participate in a maximum of three (3) events.  Students are not allowed to perform two solos on the same instrument.  This does not include the chamber ensembles or accompaniment).
  17. Medals are included in the entry fee.
  18. Piano duets must be for four hands and one piano.
  19. Pianos are NOT provided in the warm-up rooms, except in piano sections.
